Mayor Jim O'Neill and Climate Action Reference Group (CARG) Member and local resident, Rebecca James, open the Town's Electric Vehicle Charging Station!

Located on the southern side of the carpark at Town Hall (135 Canning Highway, East Fremantle), the Electric Vehicle Charging Station is available at no charge until the end of this year. Fees will be charged from 1 January 2023. For details about the fees, please see the link below.

The installation of this charging station supports Strategic Objective #1 Energy (Council will encourage the community to transition to zero emissions by 2030) and Strategic Objective #4 Transport (Council commits to no greenhouse emissions from its fleet by 2030) of the Town's Climate Emergency Strategy, which was adopted by Council in March this year.

'It is wonderful to see aspects of the Climate Emergency Strategy being implemented in our Town and well before finalising our Climate Emergency Action Plan', Mayor O'Neill said. 'We are pleased to be able to offer electric vehicle charging, free of charge, until the end of this year.'

This charging station is a dual port 22Kw charger. Two parking bays, adjacent to the charging station, have been clearly marked for electric vehicle charging only.
