Council in accordance with s3.12(3)(a)(b) of the Local Government Act 1995, gives state-wide and local public notice stating that it proposes to make a Town of East Fremantle Public Places and Local Government Property Amendment Local Law 2023, the purpose and effect of which is as follows:
PURPOSE - The purpose of the Town of East Fremantle Public Places and Local Government Property Amendment Local Law 2023 is to enable the Town of East Fremantle to provide additional controls and management related to shark fishing on local government property to support increased public safety.
EFFECT - The effect of the Town of East Fremantle Public Places and Local Government Property Amendment Local Law 2023 is that it will provide a framework for the control of shark fishing on local government property and will provide authority to enforce the law and administer fines.
The proposed Local Law may be inspected at the Town of East Fremantle, 135 Canning Highway, East Fremantle during normal office hours. An electronic copy can be downloaded here - Public Places and Local Government Property Amendment Local Law 2023
Submissions may be made to the Chief Executive Officer by 4pm 20 June 2023.
