Our East Freo community was pumped at the official opening of the nature play and pump track facilities at Gourley Park on Saturday morning.

Lisa O'Malley MLA and Mayor Jim O'Neill opened the new facilities, which were funded by the State Government and the Town. Joined by Councillors Cliff Collinson, Kerry Donovan, Tony Natale and Mark Wilson, Lisa O’Malley and Mayor O’Neill were then able to chat and mingle with members of the community who enjoyed free ice creams!

Nine-year-old Albie's pump track demo excited the crowd, as he gained significant height on the track and performed tricks (please note Albie was kitted out with protective gear including a helmet!).

The Town is thrilled to install these new facilities, which are true "community builders" and we would like to acknowledge Nature Based Play and Three Chillies Design for their involvement. Local residents from across the road made a point of commenting on how impressed they are that people of all ages truly share the pump track in a respectful manner – it really is a community builder.

Thank you to everyone who attended.
