The Town is very pleased to announce that it has now secured a $20 million election commitment from both major political parties to support the redevelopment of the East Fremantle Oval Precinct. The Liberal party announced its election commitment on the 20/12/20 and the Labour party on 17/01/21.

CEO Gary Tuffin said “we believe this commitment by both parties is a testament to the value the project represents for the community, it’s exciting times ahead for the Town. This project will result in a new state-of-the-art community hub where community, sports, and leisure will thrive together”.

Importantly the design, which was guided by the community from the outset, delivers on their expressed wishes to open up the site for community use.

The new Integrated Community, Sport and Leisure Precinct on the East Fremantle Oval site will incorporate the following components:

  • East Fremantle Football Club facilities
  • East Fremantle Bowls Club facilities
  • East Fremantle Croquet Club Facilities
  • Playgroup and Child Nursing facilities
  • Health club
  • Café/restaurant
  • Allied health tenancies
  • Function room, community hall and meeting rooms
  • Adventure playground
  • Outdoor hard courts
  • Skate zone
  • Dog exercise area
  • Community garden, landscaped paths and open green space

Once funding is available, the Town will progress the plans into the construction phase, to deliver the facilities.
