Have your say on the future of community events

Town of East Fremantle is reimagining its approach to community events.
Community members are invited to have their say by completing a short online survey that will help inform a new Events Strategy and annual events calendar.
Feedback from the survey – together with a community workshop in the new year – will assist the Town to shape the way it plans and delivers events, while aligning with available resources.
The survey follows Council’s decision in March 2025 to pause East Fremantle’s George Street Festival for 2025.
The pause has allowed the Town to begin considering the scope and long-term sustainability of the festival, and the way it may deliver other community events in the future.
The Town also committed to undertaking community consultation to learn which events and event outcomes are important to residents, businesses, clubs and community groups.
To date, this has included gathering feedback following the festival pause announcement and considering results of the recent biennial Community Scorecard. Local festivals, community markets and events were identified in the Scorecard as a focus area for Council over the next 10 years.
Details of the community workshop will be announced later in the year.
The Community Events survey will open on Monday 20 October and close at 10am on Monday 3 November.
Respondents aged over 18 can go into the draw to win a $150 voucher to an East Fremantle business. Terms and Conditions apply.
