MARKYT Community Scorecard

Thank you to everyone who completed the 2025 MARKYT Community Scorecard. 

The Town is thrilled that overall, our community thinks the Town is the best place to live (with a score of 92 out of 100, 18 points above the industry average)

AND

local businesses think it's the best place to own or operate a business. 

The Town is the industry leader in both measures.

We also set the highest score across several service areas including: 

  • Community engagement and communications
  • Environmental management and conservation
  • River and foreshore management
  • Environmental health services
  • Waste management

Generally, the community feels the Town’s performance has remained steady or improved.

Over the next 10 years, the community wants Council to focus on six key priorities:

  1. Delivering better footpaths and cycleways
  2. Local festivals, community markets and events
  3. Community safety and crime prevention
  4. Enhancing streetscapes, trees and verges
  5. Addressing parking concerns
  6. Leading climate change

2023 MARKYT Community Scorecard

During 2023, the Town commissioned independent research company, CATALYSE, to conduct a community survey in East Fremantle. 

The Town was the equal number 1 local government area:

  • as a 'place to live' and
  • as a 'governing organisation'

as determined by our 2023 MARKYT Community Scorecard.
