Draft Events Strategy 2026 to 2031

Town of East Fremantle is inviting residents and ratepayers to comment on its inaugural draft Events Strategy 2026-2031.

The objectives and outcomes in the Strategy have been informed by community feedback and are anchored by four guiding principles:
Connecting the community

  • Celebrating East Freo
  • Sustainability (financial and environmental) and safety
  • Collaboration and partnerships

The Events Strategy introduces a more structured and sustainable approach to events, including moving away from a single, large event.

Instead, the Town will deliver a diverse program of smaller events which are partnership-led, financially sustainable and anchored to the vision of its new Council Plan 2026 to 2036.

Through this Strategy, we’re setting a clear direction for events that reflect East Freo’s identity, activate our places, and strengthen our sense of belonging

Residents can share feedback on the Events Strategy (accessible via Documents) until 5pm on Monday 6 July 2026.

    Additional information
Town of East Fremantle’s Events Strategy 2026-2031 provides a framework for the planning, delivery and evaluation of community events held within East Fremantle.

The Strategy will guide the way the Town works with its community and stakeholders.

This ensures the Town’s community event program is contributing to the success and wellbeing of East Fremantle’s residents, businesses and ratepayers.

To support the Events Strategy, an Annual Events Plan and Calendar will be developed by the Town and approved by Council each financial year. The Town is committed to learning from each event. It will review its approach and adapt the annual events Plan accordingly each year.
