Residents who enjoy a quiz night are invited to put on their winter woollies and attend a special Plastic Free July Quiz Night next month.

Hosted by the Town of East Fremantle and the City of Fremantle, the event will be held at the Flaming Galah Freo on Wednesday 15 July from 6.30pm.

Celebrating Plastic Free July, the quiz will include five rounds of questions and games to put your general and sustainability knowledge to the test.

Town of East Fremantle Mayor Tony Natale said the Town was pleased to once again bring sustainability, fun and education together in partnership with the City of Fremantle.

“The Town and the City are committed to reducing waste and building a more sustainable future,” he said.

“Education is at the heart of every initiative. We love finding entertaining, and interactive ways to educate to share sustainability information, and enable social connection.”

City of Fremantle Mayor Ben Lawver said Plastic Free July was an opportunity for the community to work together and take practical steps to reduce single-use plastics.

“Plastic Free July is a great opportunity for our community to come together and remind each other of the simple actions that can make a real difference for our environment,” he said.

“By reducing single-use plastics and embracing more sustainable choices, we’re helping to create a cleaner, healthier planet.

“I encourage everyone to come along to this event and be part of this movement for positive change."

Tickets are $10 each with proceeds donated to Tangaroa Blue, a registered charity that works to prevent and remove marine debris in Australia.

Interested participants are encouraged to organise a team and book their tickets as places are limited.
