East Fremantle residents are invited to put their waste sorting knowledge to the test this Plastic Free July with a fun prize up for grabs.

This month, residents can complete the Everyday Waste Zero interactive online quiz to test how well they can sort common household items into the correct bins.

Residents who complete the 30 second game are encouraged to take a photo or screenshot of their results.

The results can be either emailed to the Town, or residents can visit the Town Hall to claim a free keep cup, while stocks last.

Partnering with Plastic Free July supports the Town’s Climate Emergency Action Plan and broader waste reduction objectives.

Mayor Tony Natale said the initiative aimed to help residents better understand their waste sorting habits and encourage simple actions that reduce landfill contamination.

“One of the actions in the Town’s Climate Emergency Action Plan is to inform and educate residents to think about what they are buying to reduce single-use waste,” he said.

“Plastic Free July is a great opportunity to learn simple habits that can make a difference.

The reusable keep cup is also a simple swap that helps cut down on single-use waste.”

To take the Everyday Waste Zero test, visit the Three Bin System page.

Residents can email their results, including their mistakes (if any) to admin@eastfremantle.wa.gov.au.

Stocks are limited to one cup per household. Please bring proof of residency when collecting your cup.
