This financial year, the Town will invest around $4 million into capital works and river infrastructure projects.
Projects include:
- $600,000 will be invested into the W Wayman Reserve river wall Stage 1.
- $100,000 to upgrade flood lighting at Wauhop Park. Installation is scheduled for October. The project is funded by a $100,000 grant from the WA Government. This project is part of the WA Government’s PlayOn WA, an exciting initiative to deliver 2,030 community infrastructure items across WA by 2030.
- $805,000 for the George Street Shared Space project.
- $610,000 for Riverside Road renewal works. Council recently approved a tender for a suitable contractor and works will begin soon.
- $150,000 towards road safety improvements.
- $200,000 towards East Fremantle Community Park works.
- $120,000 to replace Ulrich Park playground.
Solar panels and battery systems have recently been installed at the Town Hall, Dovenby House and Ops Depot and East Fremantle Community Park. The $796,000 project is funded by a Community Energy Upgrade Fund grant from the Federal Government and the Town's Sustainability and Environmental Reserve.
