National Volunteer Week - Recognising our local heroes

Published on Tuesday, 21 May 2024 at 9:11:43 AM

National Volunteer Week (20th – 26th May) is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering. This special event is an opportunity to highlight the important role of volunteers in our community and invites people not currently volunteering to give it a go. National Volunteer Week 2024 is a celebration of the diverse passions and talents everyone brings to volunteering. This year’s National Volunteer Week theme is ‘Something for Everyone’ highlighting that there’s a place for everyone in the world of volunteering.

The Town would like to acknowledge and thank our Amazing Volunteers that work to enhance and improve our community.
We would like to take this opportunity to highlight some of our community groups and volunteers.

The East Fremantle Playgroup committee members volunteer to run an inclusive and child-friendly environment to build enduring local community capacity to support children and families.

In 2020 the Town formed the East Fremantle Climate Action Reference Group (CARG), igniting a collaborative effort to shape our Climate Emergency Strategy (CES) and Climate Emergency Action Plan (CEAP). CARG acts as a vital link between Council and the community, channeling recommendations and ensuring a collective voice to guide the Town's path in response to climate change.
