Bridging Now to Next in the Town

Town of East Fremantle proudly supports this year’s National Reconciliation Week theme “Bridging Now to Next” which reflects the ongoing connection between past, present and future.

As part of its support, the Town acknowledges that Australia’s journey to reconciliation has not been linear and encourages its residents to answer Reconciliation Australia’s call to step forward together in building a more united and respectful nation.

Deputy Mayor Tony Natale said acknowledging and supporting National Reconciliation Week was an important milestone in the Town’s calendar.

“In 2022, the Town prepared its first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in conjunction with Reconciliation Australia,” he said.

“The Reflect RAP is a strategic document that includes practical actions that drive the Town’s contribution to reconciliation internally and in the community.

“I encourage our residents to learn about shared histories, cultures and achievements and what we can do to help achieve reconciliation both locally and as a Nation.

“Everyone can do this by interacting with different mediums that teach us about culture and our histories or just simply attending a National Reconciliation Week event in the Fremantle area.”

National Reconciliation Week runs from Tuesday 27 May to Tuesday 3 June.
