Application for a Verge Licence

The Town is collecting your personal information for the purpose of responding to your request. 

Some of the information may be provided to the Town's contractors for the purpose of addressing your request. Your information will not be provided to any other person or agency unless you have given us permission, or where legally obligated to do so.

What do I need to submit?

  • A site plan (1:200) (with existing building/s and scale) illustrating the verge, crossover location, all infrastructure (drainage pits, manhole covers), street trees, and the proposed area to be used for building material storage. The plan is to be clearly labelled where the proposed storage of materials area will be located, including a tree protection zone/s around all existing verge street trees.

  • Details of the heights of materials must be included 

  • Illustrated details of setbacks from the kerb line and all verge infrastructure

  • Corner lots must ensure that the vision of vehicles is not impeded, height of materials is not greater than 750mm or locating the materials at the furthest point along the verge away from the corner. This needs to be demonstrated on the site plan for all corner lot properties. 

No Verge or Limited Verge Space

  • In some cases, building sites or properties located in constrained areas with no verge and only a footpath, may have limited space for storing materials. When this occurs, the applicant may be able to apply for a road reserve permit with a fee as per the Schedule of Fees and Charges.

  • The Town will not grant approval to obstruct the footpath in these circumstances.
