Young people are invited to celebrate the summer holidays with a free, vibrant youth event at the East Fremantle Community Park on Saturday 10 January.

East Fremantle Street Jam will kick off at the skate zone from 3pm until 7pm and will be packed with activities and opportunities for young people to connect and play.

Activities include:

  •  Face painting and a creative workshop with Art Jam.
  • Cites of Melville and Fremantle will bring their youth trailers with giant games.
  • An opportunity to chat to headspace Fremantle about mental health support available for 12 to 25-year olds
  • Scooter, skate and BMX enthusiasts can enjoy a free coaching session from Freestyle Now from 4pm to 6pm
  • A free sausage sizzle will be provided by the East Fremantle Lions Club between 4pm and 6pm (limit of one per person, while stocks last).

Town of East Fremantle Mayor Tony Natale said the Town was proud to host a vibrant, summer celebration for our young people.

“The East Fremantle Street Jam is a new event that is all about creating a fun, safe and welcoming space where young people can connect, be active and feel supported,” he said. ¬

“We thank the cities of Fremantle and Melville for their support and are excited to see our communities come together for an afternoon of creativity, skating, and music.”

Mayor Natale said the Town was also continuing to seek feedback from community members about events in the Town.

“We especially want to hear from young people about what types of events they would like to see in the future,” he said.

“They will be able to provide their ideas during the creative workshop with Art Jam, and via a short survey on the day.”

Young people interested in coaching sessions must be six years or older, and must be supervised by an adult at the event.

Bookings for the coaching sessions are essential. Visit Eventbrite to book.

This is a family-friendly, alcohol and drug free event.
