The Town’s Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Throssell, congratulated Mayor Elect Tony Natale and Councillors Elect. He also thanked all community members who nominated for Council, or voted, in the elections.
“Local Government is a special part of the government system. It’s the closest government to the community,” he said.
“We thank everyone who chose to run for Council, and to represent our Town.
“I look forward to working with the incoming Council to continue delivering first-class services to our community. This will include collaborating with Council and our community to develop our new Council Plan over the next six to eight months.”
Mr Throssell also thanked retiring Mayor Jim O’Neill and retiring Councillors Kerry Donovan and Andrew McPhail.
“The Town has been fortunate to have had such a generous and dedicated leader in Jim O’Neill over the past 24 years, including 18 years as Mayor in total,” he said.
“Cr Donovan and Cr McPhail’s tireless service, and significant contributions to the Town are also greatly appreciated.”
The Mayor and Councillors Elect will be sworn in at a special ceremony at the Town Hall on Tuesday evening (21 October 2025).
