East Fremantle residents and businesses are advised that a temporary road closure will be in place at the George Street and Hubble Street intersection from 12 noon to 4pm on Wednesday 11 March.
Streets Alive Masterclass – Wednesday 11 March
The closure will enable the Streets Alive Masterclass, a hands-on workshop focused on practical, positive actions to slow traffic, improve safety and enhance the beauty of the George Street precinct.
Organised by the George Street Collective and the Town Teams Movement, and hosted by Public Works Engineering Australia, the workshop will bring more than 30 professionals together.
It aims to explore real-world, community-led approaches that prioritise people, strengthen neighbourhood connections and help shape a safer, vibrant George Street.
Following the masterclass, the area will be marked with removable paint to demonstrate some of the possibilities discussed in the workshop.
The markings will be visible for about two weeks to provide community members an opportunity to view, and reflect on, the ideas.
Community Feedback Chat – Saturday 14 March
The George Street Collective is inviting community members to join them for a feedback chat outside the East Fremantle Kindergarten on Hubble Street, from 10am to noon on Saturday 14 March.
The group hopes to share ideas from the Streets Alive Masterclass and gather feedback from interested community members.
