Residents and business owners in and around the Town of East Fremantle’s Town Centre are invited to have their say on the future of the Town Centre.
Two interactive workshops will be held in March with different concepts for future growth and development of the Centre to be explored:
• Workshop 1: Thursday 5 March from 6pm to 8pm
• Workshop 2: Thursday 26 March from 6pm to 8pm
Attendance at both workshops is encouraged as the second workshop will build on the outcomes of workshop one.
An urban design consultant will lead the workshops by explaining different concepts for how the Town Centre might develop, including in relation to commercial activity, additional housing and parking and traffic management.
Town of East Fremantle’s Mayor Tony Natale said the workshops were an opportunity to be part of the planning process.
“This is a chance to contribute your ideas and engage in discussions about the future building type, including suitable commercial uses and residential uses in the Town Centre,” he said.
“The workshops will help guide what development controls might be added to Local Planning Scheme No. 4, if Council agrees to suggested controls.”
A map of what is defined as the Town Centre is available on the Town’s website.
Registration is essential via admin@eastfremantle.wa.gov.au to secure a place by Thursday 5 March.
