Town of East Fremantle extends its congratulations to CEO Jonathan Throssell who was awarded a life membership by Local Government Professionals WA at is annual WA Awards Dinner last night.
With a distinguished career in local government spanning more than 30 years, Jonathan is a respected, values-based leader whose past roles have included CEO at the shires of Derby-West Kimberley and Mundaring. He also served as former President of LG Professionals Australia (WA) and President of LG Professionals Australia.
Honouring Mr Throssell at the dinner, Local Government Professionals WA CEO Stacey Hutt said he demonstrated exemplary leadership, integrity and commitment to professional excellence.
“Jonathan has consistently demonstrated the belief that effective leadership is based on listening on the ground, collaboration and building trust,” she said.
“His long-standing philosophy: ‘put people first’ has shaped his approach to organisational culture, professional development and community service.
“All of us owe Jonathan a debt of gratitude for his unwavering commitment to achieving the very best outcomes for the Local Government Professional Association WA and its members, and he is a most deserving recipient of life membership.”
Mr Throssell said he was humbled to receive the award, which was presented by Local Government Minister Hannah Beazley, and recognises the long and outstanding service of officers.
“I consider this award as not just about what has happened in the past, but as recognition and responsibility of what we have to look forward to in the future,” he said. “This includes to continue to support and mentor one another, and that is the greatest legacy I take away from the honour of receiving this award.”
The Town joins LG Professionals WA in thanking Jonathan for his dedicated service.
