Fremantle Biennale

Past Event

Biennale Comes to East Freo in November, featuring the following events...

Moombaki, staged on the Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River), between the bridges, Fremantle (visible from East Fremantle), 5 - 7 November, from 8pm.

Vespers - a sound, music and performance piece imagined for and carried across the river.at John Tonkin Reserve on 12-14 November 2021, from 6pm.

Overload - partially submerged and obscured by the changing tides of the Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River), a marooned and ghostly vessel will occupy an expanse of water beneath Fremantle’s Traffic Bridge. Available for viewing 5 - 21 November 2021 in J Dolan Park.

Orange Path - Perhaps Western Australia’s longest artwork, a 500-metre walkable painted pathway will unfold in November, tracing the shoreline of the Derbarl Yerrigan, connecting Fremantle’s Traffic Bridge and the Stirling Bridge.

Residents are welcome to attend these free events, and to explore a new art installation on the footpath in the Reserve. We thank you for your patience as we experience increased foot and vehicle traffic in the area and increased demand for parking. To view the programme, see: fremantlebiennale.com.au
