Fremantle City Football Club is about to benefit from an upgrade to their club changerooms at Wauhop Park (the corner of Wauhop Road and Preston Point Road) with works currently underway.
As part of an election commitment, the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries provided $800,000 to fund the project with additional monies coming from the Town of East Fremantle and Fremantle City Football Club.
The redevelopment will include the renovation of the existing changing rooms and the building of an additional, brand new changing room.
Building contractor, AE Hoskins commenced works in March 2024 and temporary fencing is currently installed at the site.
Club President Tony Estrano said the upgrade would accommodate the club’s girls and women's teams' increasing numbers.
“This redevelopment will provide wonderful facilities that all our women and girls teams will enjoy for many years to come,” Mr Estrano said.
Works are anticipated to be completed in September / October 2024.
