Fremantle City Football Club is about to benefit from an upgrade to their club changerooms at Wauhop Park (the corner of Wauhop Street and Preston Point Road) with work to begin onsite soon.
As part of an election commitment, the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries provided $800,000 to fund the project with additional monies coming from the Town of East Fremantle and Fremantle City Football Club.
The redevelopment will include the renovation of the existing changing rooms and the building of an additional, brand new changing room.
Temporary fencing will be erected in coming weeks with building contractor AE Hoskins to start construction in March 2024.
Club President Tony Estrano said the upgrade would accommodate the club’s girls and women's teams' increasing numbers.
“This redevelopment will provide wonderful facilities that all our women and girls teams will enjoy for many years to come,” Mr Estrano said.
Works are anticipated to be completed in August 2024.
