Preston Point Road North Recreation Precinct Master Plan - Project Update

Published: Monday, 25 March 2019 at 11:31:53 AM

The Preston Point North Recreation Facilities Master Plan (PPNRF) aims to provide clear direction to the Town regarding proposed upgrades of and investment in, the existing recreation facilities within the Precinct to ensure that sporting and active recreation requirements t meet the recreational needs of the community.

The timeline for finalising the master plan has now been extended, with the first draft of the Plan scheduled for presentation to Council by the end of May 2019.

The project commenced in January this year with the intention of having a final “draft” master plan to Council for endorsement by April 2019. However, the timeline has now been extended to accommodate the completion of other related studies currently underway that may have an impact on the final outcomes of the PPNRF Master Plan.

ABV Leisure Consultancy Services commenced the community engagement component for the project in February, undertaking online and hard copy surveys with over 150 of these being completed.  Two drop-in sessions were held at the precinct along with one-on-one meetings with clubs, user groups and ongoing consultation is being undertaken with relevant state sporting associations.

The information gathered so far is now being given further consideration prior to the development of the “Draft” PRNRF Master Plan. Once the “draft” is endorsed by Council, a further round of public consultation will occur prior to its final adoption.

All enquiries about the project can be directed to Karen Dore at the Town via email  or phone (08) 9339 9339.
