Local Commercial Centres Study
Are you a commercial landowner, business operator or resident?
Last year the Town appointed Pracsys consultants to assess the current and future local commercial needs of the Town and develop a strategy to guide development of commercial centres to meet those needs.
Thank you to everyone who recently participated in an online survey to collect your thoughts on the Town’s existing main commercial areas (Town Centre, Petra Street, Mixed Use Canning Highway and George Street). Next steps include meeting with major commercial landholders and businesses.
Once a needs analysis and strategy has been drafted, the Town will host community sessions to seek comments from landowners, business operators and residents alike.

The final strategy aims to provide guidance for commercial floorspace needs, land use mix (including residential) and subsequently employment opportunities for the Town over the next 10 to 15 years. It will also outline some design principles to ensure that our commercial centres are welcoming and accessible spaces that people want to visit and linger within.
