Have Your Say: Local Commercial Centres Needs Assessment and Strategy

Published on Monday, 13 December 2021 at 6:40:12 PM

The Town of East Fremantle has identified the need to develop a Local Commercial Needs Assessment and Strategy (the Strategy) to support planning for appropriate commercial development within the Town. The Strategy will be underpinned by a robust analysis that identifies gaps in the provision of commercial uses, an understanding of current trends, and how they may affect demand for commercial uses in the future.

The Town has engaged Pracsys, an economics specialist, to undertake the strategy. It is essential that the Town understands the characteristics of each activity centre and the surrounding areas to provide an evidence base for future recommendations. Therefore, you are invited to complete the survey and assist the Town to develop the Strategy.

This Strategy will establish the long-term vision, encourage redevelopment and guide future public and private investment in the Town’s commercial centres. The strategy will also assist in encouraging high quality development outcomes and improvement of streetscapes and public places over time to develop livable neighbourhoods in line with resident and business expectations.

This Survey will help to identify the current performance of commercial centres, and consider ways in which the Town, the local community and businesses can work together to achieve the desired outcomes. Please complete the below questions by either typing in the space provided or ticking the appropriate box(es). The closing date for the survey will be 24 December 2021.
