The Town of East Fremantle is actively involved in supporting our community to choose to refuse single-use plastics.
In 2020, the Town developed the Sustainable Events Policy restricting the use of single-use plastic at Council run events.
In 2021, the Town hosted its annual George Street Festival eliminating the need for single-use plastic with the provision of 22,000 reusable items resulting in only 148kg of waste produced and only 48kg sent to landfill.
