End of Fashion will Headline East Fremantle’s
George Street Festival - Local, Live and Loud
An event two years in the making will now generate even more excitement and anticipation with the announcement that local music icons End of Fashion will headline the final musical performance of the day at East Fremantle’s George Street Festival.
The Festival is back, bigger and better than ever, with three stages hosting music throughout the day, with the main stage now confirmed to feature Perth’s own End of Fashion as the culmination of a day of that will be local, live and loud.
End of Fashion were formed in the early noughties in Perth and rose to prominence when their 2005 single “O Yeah” made #8 on Triple J’s Hottest 100. Following a hiatus, the band returned to performing in 2018.
East Fremantle’s George Street Festival’s musical extravaganza will be spread across three stages, with many and varied live music options to suit all tastes available all day featuring local performers as curated by local East Fremantle curators, Suzette Collective:

The Youth Stage at Glasson Park will feature the best and brightest local musicians including William O’Beirne; Helga & The Wizard; Gemma Aho; 12 Parsecs; Reef Robinson; The Stamps; Angelina Curtis; Xavier Cureton; WakkoPrism; and will culminate with a performance by the Penny Lanes Music School (featuring Wildfire and other acts).
The musical performances on the day will be given greater prominence on the day from 12pm to 2pm by community radio station RTRFM, whose Giant Steps show will be broadcast live, sharing the event with the whole of Perth, and digitally with the world.
Mayor of East Fremantle, Jim O’Neill, is excited about the event and knows that locals are counting down the days until their favourite day out returns to the historic and beautiful George Street.
“This will be a huge day for our Town, a long-awaited and loved event where we can gather and celebrate East Fremantle, the start of Summer and how lucky we are to live in this tolerant and inclusive community,” Mayor O’Neill said.
He said it had been a tough couple of years for many people, and the Festival will bring people together to revel in our resilience and strength and to reconnect in a spirit of celebration for our sustainable street party.
He explained that the focus for the Festival this year is on sustainability, with this principle guiding all aspects of the event, with food, drinks, performances, an art exhibition and sale and a special zone for young people, as well as the opportunity to purchase homewares, fashion, jewellery and much more.
He said that he and his fellow elected members (three of whom were newly elected in October) and Town staff will also be in attendance to meet and talk to locals and give advice and support on a wide range of topics.
