The Town of East Fremantle has its sights set on the future and is about to develop its corporate priorities for the next decade and is inviting the community to have input.
The Town’s Strategic Community Plan sets the overall direction for the Town across key areas and is now under review. The Plan prioritises the Town’s operations including the delivery of major projects, providing quality services, the maintenance of facilities, protecting and enhancing the natural environment (parks, reserves, river foreshore), preserving our heritage, protecting and improving streetscapes, facilitating leisure and recreation for all ages and promoting local businesses and much more.
Mayor Jim O’Neill is inviting the community to participate across a range of opportunities including an online survey, hard copy surveys and a range of community events designed to attract the interest of local residents, community groups, property and business owners, and the Town’s young people.
“We want our community’s input so that we can get the priorities right for the next ten years, so that we are using the investment we all make through rates into the right mix of services and facilities that reflect local interests and aspirations and in particular those groups which participate in non-structured active recreation and are often overlooked,” Mayor O’Neill said.
All community members are invited to attend a series of events planned for September and October 2020:
- Community Workshop, Wednesday 16 September 2020, 6.30pm East Fremantle Yacht Club - register now

- Barefoot Bowls (Youth), Friday 9 October 2020, 10am East Fremantle Bowling Club - register now
- Business Breakfast, Thursday 15 October 2020, 7am Swan Yacht Club - register now
Mayor O’Neill wants everyone to get involved from all ages (including those who have participated in previous reviews, as well as those whose views have not been heard) either through the online survey (which can also be made available in hard copy upon request), or by attending one of the events listed above.
