Expressions of Interest are sought from suitably qualified individuals to be appointed as an external member to Council’s Audit Committee for a period of two years (to coincide with the Council election cycle and appointments to Committees).
The Audit Committee is an independent advisory committee to Council, established to assist in the effective conduct of Council’s responsibilities for good governance, the management of risk, financial reporting and maintenance of reliable systems and internal controls in order to facilitate the achievement of its organisational objectives.
The external member is required to demonstrate senior business, risk management or financial management/reporting knowledge and experience.

Expressions of Interest, detailing background and experience and an understanding of the Committee’s duties and responsibilities are to be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, PO Box 1097, Fremantle, 6959, and are to be received by Thursday 30 September 2021.
Please note that meeting attendance fees are not permissible under the Local Government Act for members of the Audit Committee, but expenses such as telecommunications and childcare costs are eligible for reimbursement.
