INSPECTION OF PRIVATE SWIMMING POOL/SPA ENCLOSURE

The Town of East Fremantle will be undertaking inspections of all known private swimming pool and spa enclosures in the Town from 5 September, 2016.

Inspecting Officers will be calling at homes during September, Monday to Wednesday, between the hours of 8.00am to 5.30pm. Your assistance and co-operation in allowing the Officers to undertake this very vital task would most certainly be appreciated.

Should you have gates that are usually locked or an unrestrained dog in your garden and expect not to be at home during the inspection time/s, please arrange for a gate to be left unlocked and your dog restrained. Alternatively, you are welcome to arrange for a mutually suitable appointment time by calling the mobile number provided below.

All owners of Swimming Pool/Spa enclosures are required to maintain their pool fencing barriers to meet Australian Standard AS 1926.1-2012 (swimming pool/spa safety barriers part 1) provisions. A copy of this standard is available for inspection at the Council office. Other legislation may also be applicable dependent upon the age of your pool/spa.

It is possible your Swimming Pool/Spa has been removed since the last inspection and Council records have not been changed. Should this be the case, please advise the details in writing to ensure that Council’s records are updated.

To arrange an approximate inspection time during the spread of hours outlined above, or to be in attendance whilst the inspection is undertaken, please call Mr Nick Nicholls on 0457 115 421.
